Organized Voices for Rural Northern California Youth
About the NCYPC
“The youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow.”
- Nelson Mandela
Northern California is an often-overlooked region that deserves more recognition. It's time to shed light on the hidden gem communities of California and give those voices a seat at the table. Our main objective is to ensure that the youth voices of this region are heard on local, regional and state levels, where decisions make a direct impact on our rural communities. By advocating for the needs and priorities of rural youth, we aim to create positive change that uplifts our region and fosters a sense of representation and fairness for all. Through increased representation and dedicated efforts, we can pave the way for a brighter future for Northern California and its youth.

We have worked to advanced youth-centered policy change.
We successfully advocated for increased state funding for youth mental health services, contributed youth testimony to education equity legislation, and mobilized young people to meet directly with local and state policymakers.
Through our policy fellowship and leadership academies, we’ve trained hundreds of young advocates in organizing, civic engagement, and policy strategy—equipping the next generation to lead community-driven change.
We’ve united dozens of youth-serving organizations across Northern California to coordinate advocacy efforts, share resources, and amplify collective impact on issues like education, broadband, and mental health.
We’ve organized youth-led policy roundtables, listening sessions, and public forums that have directly informed county and state youth initiatives.
Our members have documented lived experiences and data around issues like education access and mental health, using those findings to drive narrative change and influence policy outcomes.
